Dean and Mary Jean Brown, husband and wife musical team, are the co-founders  of Good News Family Ministries, a non-profit organization dedicated to the training of young people in music and Christian service.

Dean Brown’s ministry as an inter-church evangelist and gospel singer has had a wide acceptance in all evangelical churches.  A man of many talents, Dean has served many organizations with his technical expertise in the field of Christian media. He has produced and mixed over 300 albums for various recording artists, churches, colleges and world-wide missionary organizations. His solo albums have been recorded on the Sacred, Zondervan and Monarch record labels.


Mary Jean Brown is a piano stylist as well as one of the few female arrangers and conductors in the recording industry. She is the composer of several hundred published and recorded songs and the originator and director of the Christian recording groups: The Caravan Singers, the Good News Kids and the SixTeens+plus. Mary Jean was honored as the California State Mother Of The Year by the American Mothers, Inc. (the official national sponsor of Mother’s Day) for her years of service to the youth of our country.


Dean and Mary Jean, along with their son Billy, were  also honored as The Musical Family Of The Year by the American Mothers, Inc. Billy and his wife Christy are now continuing with their own music ministry and video productions in Franklin, Tennessee and can be seen and heard on their website:


Together, the Browns have traveled in full time Christian ministry performing many concerts across the U.S. and Canada.


Each year at Christmas time you will find Dean and Mary Jean and their team of Good News Kids performing their popular Christmas show in the shopping malls of Southern California. Their patriotic concerts are also perennial favorites at both the Orange County and Los Angeles County Fairs and feature the music from their many CDs.


Dean and Mary Jean Brown have been commended by church, educational, civic and government leaders. They received a special commendation from President George Bush who said, “Because of your commitment to America’s youth through your SixTeens+plus and  the Good News Kids and the many children you have taught, we can look forward to a brighter tomorrow, secure in the knowledge that concerned people like you are offering young citizens leadership and guidance.”


Recently Dean Brown was heard weekly on radio as the host of the New Old Fashioned Revival Hour weekly radio broadcast featuring the music and ministry of Dr. Charles E. Fuller. This original broadcast was originally aired weekly over the 650 stations of the ABC radio network during the late 1930s through the late 1950s. Presently this new half-hour format features the newly digitized restoration of this historic broadcast and can now be heard on 17 stations in 8 states with new stations being continually added.
